Eight years later, my fondness for Pittsburgh is still alive after finding this image from the book “Allegheny City, 1840-1907” the other day. My love for bikes is forever!

The best image is a real one:

Fashion is intimidating yet exhilarating. When you work in the fashion world alongside influential creative directors, photographers, and editors who each have their own vision and style the one common ground you seek to rely on when storyboarding a photo shoot are movie references. And if you’re ever watched Isaac Mizrahi in the 90’s fashion documentary “Unzipped” you will most certainly understand what I am talking about. Isaac’s references to the 1922 silent film “Nanook of the North” and “The Call of The Wild” starring Clark Gable and Loretta Young clearly defined the fantasy world for his 1994 F/W fashion show.

Sometimes though, it is beyond the big fashion, the egos, the avant garde movies, and the smoke and mirrors production that produces the greatest image — it is the real image captured by a photographer who wants to see with his own camera how young kids try to express who they are in isolated Gaza. Look, they do parkour and they surf! Who knew? This is one of my favorite images from 2011.
